Top 10 Internet domain zones

    According to the latest analytical data from the domain industry of VeriSign company, the primacy keeps the root zone .com. In second place was the German national domain .de. Three leaders closes the top-level domain .net.

    Among the top ten top-level domains, the Russian domain zone .ru was on the 10th place.

    And, perhaps, the only notable change compared with the previous results one - a zone .cn (China). Chinese top-level domain .cn significantly lost in the number of active domain names and dropped from 6th place on the 7th. This occurred as a consequence of the recent changes in the rules of registration in the national domain.

    Among the top ten national domain, the Russian domain zone .ru is already on the 6th line.

    The number of domain names registered in the national domain zones amounted to about 79.2 million domains, as of October 2010. This with the new 1.1 million domains or growth of 1.4% in the third quarter of 2010. Over-year, growth in the national domain zones (ccTLDs) was 2.4% (compared to 2009).

    In the domain of national zones of Russia, Brazil, Australia, Poland and France, the growth rate of domain name registrations exceeded the value of 20% per a year.
